Kate is the author of the YA novel DISNEYLANDERS, published in 2014 by Orchard Hill Press, and narrative nonfiction articles appearing on Longreads, the Outline, the Billfold, Brain/Child, and Role Reboot.
Previously, she was an editor at Prima Games, an imprint of Random House, where she worked on video game strategy guides for five years. She received an MFA in creative writing from UC Riverside—Palm Desert.
She currently teaches writing in Northern California, where she lives with her husband, son, scruffy dog, tiny parrot, and sea creatures.
